A body contouring procedure to remove stubborn fat deposits not eliminated by diet and exercise. Fat is removed through suctioning with a tube and suction machine, leading to improving in body shape. Common areas include chin, chest, abdomen, love handles, buttocks and thighs.

Pre-Op Instruction:

No intake of food or water 8 hrs prior to surgery

Compression garments should be available to be used post-op

Stop smoking and alcohol intake at least 2 weeks before surgery

Anticoagnulants, viatmins, hormones (including birth control pills), anti-depressants and some other medications also to be stopped at least 2 weeks before surgery.
Note: Please provide Yanhee with a complete list of medications each patient is taking so proper advice can be given to which medication should or shouldn't be stopped.
Anesthesia: General Anesthesia
Duration: 1 hours per side

Procedure:

A large volume of solution in injected into the target area (contains Lidocaine - anesthetic effect and Epinephrine- decreasing bleeding)

A special cannula (diameter = 2,3,4 or 5mm) is inserted through a tiny skin incision and the fat is suctioned.

Surgeon closes the incision with stitches
Post-Op Instruction:
-
A day after the surgery, patient may be light to moderate physical activities
-
Begin with 25% of normal work-out 4 days post-op
-
Wrap treated area with compression bandage snugly and continuously for 6 days-2wks.

Do not apply icepacks or a heating pad to skin overlying the areas treated by liposuction
-
Do not soak in a bath, Jacuzzi, pool or beach at last 7 days post-op
-
Keep incision clean
-
Bruising may diminish after 2-3 weeks
-
Patient may take a shower 2 days post-op
-
Return for check-up after 7 days removal of stitches.
