LAPAROSCOPIC ANTIREFLUX SURGERY (NISSEN FUNDOPLICATION)
"Making state of the art surgery affordable"
Today, laparoscopic antireflux surgery has assumed a major role in the treatment of this disease. The introduction of minimally invasive techniques for the treatment of GERD has lowered the threshold for surgical treatment.
GERD symptoms are common in the general population, affecting more than 40% of Americans at least once per month.
Laparoscopic antireflux surgery (Nissen) consists on making a 360° stomach wrap around the esophagus fixing it with suture material to create a new and competent valve to avoid reflux, all these done through five very small incisions (5 to 10 mm) in your abdomen!
