Crowns

In case of such teeth, where the existing tooth tissue doesn't enables the preparing of a permanent filling, the fixing of a crown is advisable. With the help of a crown the anatomical form of the tooth can be restored, hereby we can make corrections from the aesthetic and functional aspect, as well. By preparing the abutment the dentist removes the tooth tissue in a certain thickness from the surface  of the tooth , that 's where the crown is placed, like a thimble. This consits of two parts, a cap and a ceramic cover. The ceramic part covers the metal completely , therefore it is really aesthetic.

Metal-free ceramic crowns (Cercon)

At the area of the incisors it is frequent, that though the crown looks nice, it doesn't look natural next to your own  teeth. The main reason  for this is, that the basis of the metal-ceramic crown is metal, and therefore the light transmission is lower, as in case of natural teeth. This problem can be solved with metalfree ceramic crowns.

A metal-free ceramic crown which is transmitting light, called CERCON, can't be distinguished from natural teeth, even from a distance  of 5-10 cm. The CERCON system has been developed by Swiss scientists. The model of the crown or bridge framework is fabricated into wax, is optically scanned by a laser and consequently by means of the computer it is cut in maximized size from the pre-cemented Y-TCP perform and finally it is heavily cemented. After this the framework is covered with ceramics.

The advantage of the Cercon system are the following : exceptional strength, toughness, reliability and biocompatibility,ability of transmitting light, it is allergy free and it has a low temperature conductivity.

• in case of worn or chipped teeth, in order to cover stained teeth, especially in case of front teeth (for instance heavy discoloration after taking strong tetracycline /formerly widespread antibiotic/, which doesn’t react to professional bleaching procedures),
• cover gaps, reduce gaps between teeth,
• correction of axis difference of teeth without the use of braces,
• after the damage of teeth, the damage of cutting edge of the teeth, or in case of split or broken teeth,
• in case of chipped off edges of front teeth,
• color correction of discolored teeth after root treatment,
• optimizing the position of the outstanding teeth into the dental arch.

I would like to tell you that I am happy with this medical trip experience and overall dental arrangements. My experience was quite good. Staff spoke English and a little German, but it was no problem at all. Office and everything was very clean. Staff was all professional, and made me comfortable about what was happening.
