Obesity is the epidemic of the century, it is increasingly affecting our population and it is estimated that 15-20% of the population in Latin America have obesity problems. In developed countries such as the US, these rates are even higher, reaching up to 50% of its population.

Dr. John A. Altuve S., General Surgeon endorsed by the University of San Carlos de Guatemala. He conducted his training in upper gastrointestinal surgery focusing on the treatment of obesity at the University of Chile in Santiago de Chile.

Four years ago, he came back to Guatemala and now has more than 100 patients who underwent bariatric surgery and have successful results and are more than happy with them.

As preparation for the surgery, all patients will meet with a wide range of medical staff for their laboratory studies including: cardiologists, pulmonologists, psychologists and nutritionists in order to detect and stabilize the potential risks individually.
