Eyecenter Latem - Eeklo

Based in St-Martens Latem near Ghent and with sister clinics in Eeklo (also near Ghent) and Terneuzen in the Netherlands, Eyecenter Latem-Eeklo is a well-established specialist eye clinic offering a range of general and specialist ophthalmology services. The centre has a particular expertise in laser eye surgery, eyelid corrections, clear lens exchange and the treatment of cataracts, retinal issues, glaucoma and macular degeneration. Eyecenter Latem was founded in 2007 by ophthalmologist Dr Fernand De Wilde and comprises a medical team of three experienced ophthalmologists, four optometrists and a medical photographer. While enjoying a strong reputation with regard to general ophthalmology, each of the ophthalmologists also offer a sub-specialism and areas covered include specialised digital fluoroangiography, visual acuity measurement, laser treatments for diabetic patients and eyelid corrections with carbon dioxide laser. Dr De Wilde himself is a specialist in cataract surgery and refractive eye surgery. Easily accessible and with a private 20-space car park, Eyecenter Latem has its own operating room and works closely with the Belgian Ocular Laser Centre (BOLC) in Drongen and the St Lucas Hospital in Ghent to offer the most up-to-date techniques and treatments including Prelex (presbyopic lens exchange) with Catalys laser and ReLEx Smile laser eye surgery.
