Dr. Tariq Amir, Gastroenterologist - Abu Dhabi, UAE

Dr. Tariq completed his graduation (MBBS) from the University of Khartoum in Sudan in 1981. He became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in UK, 1992. He also acquired a Certificate of Completion in Specialist Training (CCST). Dr. Tariq , after completion of his internship, practiced in a number of key hospitals in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA)during the period of 1983 to 1991. Thereafter , Dr. Tariq moved to the United Kingdom (UK) where he practiced at reputed hospitals such as Devonshire Royal Hospital , Arrowe Park Hospital as well as the Hull Royal Infirmary Hospital along with Dewsbury District Hospital. In 1998. Dr. Tariq joined the University Hospital Aintree as a Consultant Physician specializing in Gastroenterology. In 2002, he moved to the Khartoum Teaching Hospital initially as a Consultant Physician and then later on became the Head of the Department of Medicine in 2007. In 2013, Dr. Tariq moved to the UAE where he joined a well-known private hospital in Abu Dhabi as a Consultant Gastroenterologist. Dr. Tariq has more than 30 years of experience in his field spanning UK, Sudan and UAE. He is an expert in upper and lower endoscopies , ERCP, Capsule Endoscopy and Endoscopic Laser Therapy for GI malignancies. He is a keen researcher and has authored many papers which have been published in International journals. Dr. Tariq regularly attends conferences and courses in the UK ,Germany and other locations across the world. He holds memberships of key organizations which include the International Associations of Gastroenterologists and Surgeons (IASGO), SSG, American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) & European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE).
