  • Co-author of the paper on “A Study of Effects of in vivo Mechanical Forces on Human Lumbar Discs with Scoliotic Disc as a Biological Model - Results from Serial Post-contrast diffusion studies, Histopathology and Biochemical Analysis of 21 Human lumbar scoliotic discs” which won the International Society for Study of Lumbar Spine (ISSLS) Best Research Award – Basic Science Research category for 2010 to be presented at Auckland at the Annual Meeting of ISSLS on 16th Apr 2010. This is the second time an Indian Research is being awarded this honor in the history of ISSLS.
  • Awarded the Membership of the Research Grant Committee of Scoliosis Research Society, USA in Jan 2010 for a period of three years.
  • Awarded the Scoliosis Research Society Traveling fellowship 2012 to visit three centers of excellence in scoliosis surgery in the USA over a period of 3-weeks. He is the second Indian to be bestowed with this fellowship ever.
  • Awarded the Candidate Membership of Scoliosis Research Society, USA in Jan 2009. He is the fifth Indian Spine Surgeon and the first from Karnataka to have been awarded the membership of this World’s largest Spine Deformity Forum.
  • Awarded “Dr. Shantharam Shetty Gold Medal” for Best paper presentation at Karnataka Orthopedic Association Conference conducted at Mangalore in Feb 2009 for the research on “Bone transport over a nail for infected gap nonunion of tibia”.

He is the first Indian Clinician to be bestowed with this Award ever.

  • Dr. Ingalhalikar Gold medal for the Best Paper Presentation at the Annual meeting of Association of Spine Surgeons of India (ASSI) in Chandigarh (Feb 2006). The paper was on “Randomized clinical study to compare the accuracy of navigated and non-navigated thoracic pedicle screws in deformity correction surgeries”.
  • Awarded APOA-Depuy Travelling Spine Fellowship 2005 and visited reputed spine centers in Thailand, Singapore, Korea and Taiwan (Nov 2005).
  • Awarded the Research Grant by “Foundation Yues Cotrel” Insitut de France-Paris for 2004-2005. Research Topic - “A study of endplate characteristics and diffusion of solutes across intervertebral discs in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis - An in-vivo serial post-contrast MRI study comparing the diffusion characteristics at convex and concave vertebral segments”. This is the second time an Indian Research had won this Prestigious Grant.
