About - Yaprak Kalkan
The founder of Smile Academy, Dr. Dr. Yaprak Kalkan was born in Istanbul in 1988. She graduated from Kadıköy Anatolian High School in 2006 and Marmara University Faculty of Dentistry in 2011. She went to Turku University in Finland to carry out the experiments of her studies on diabetic patients during her doctorate, which she started in the Department of Periodontology of the same university. After working in corporate and VIP health institutions such as Maslak Acıbadem Hospital, she planned to open her own clinic to take her profession to a different point and laid the foundations of Smile Academy. She has many national and international scientific publications and papers. She took part in the management many times in the leading scientific organizations of the profession, such as the 101st FDI World Dental Congress. In 2019, she assumed the position of Deputy Secretary General of the 25th International TDA Congress. She has been working as a member of the 2012-2016 Community Oral and Dental Health Commission, a member of the 2016-2020 Young Dentists Commission, and since 2018 as the General Assembly Delegate of the Turkish Dental Association at the Istanbul Chamber of Dentists.

I had calculus/plaque cleaning, 2 external, 2 impacted tooth extractions, 2 root canal treatments and zirconia coating, 1 filling and invisalign clear plaque treatment at Smile Academy. Although the extractions of 20-year-old teeth, especially buried teeth, are troublesome and risky, I believe that I survived in the lightest way possible thanks to Ms. Yaprak. I chose Yaprak Hanım, as I consider close attention and the right approach to the patient as indispensable as knowledge/skills, and I was not wrong. Mrs. Kadriye performed my root canal treatments successfully and easily. All employees are extremely helpful and smiling. I would like to thank them for ending my years of searching for a dentist and wish them continued success.

Our meeting with Smile Academy was through private health insurance guidance. Once we were satisfied with the first treatment, we agreed on a fair price for other treatments. The location is very good. The interior design and atmosphere in the clinic is very good. Physicians' interests and attitudes are very good. Having my son treated without dental phobia is invaluable.
