Graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1985. Completed his specialization studies in the Department of Brain and Neurosurgery at Hacettepe University in 1995. At the same university, completed doctorate in 2005, became an assistant professor in 2006, an associate professor in 2007, and a full professor in 2014.
