Prof. Gianfranco Parati, Cardiology, Internal Medicine - Milan, Italy

Professional experience:

1984 - Prof. Gianfranco Parati was awarded the Prize in the "New talents in Research" project promoted by “Corriere Medico” and by the National Research Council with the following motivation: "Contributions to research in the field of nervous control of the cardiovascular system".

2006-2011 - he was a professor  Professor in Internal Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Milan-Bicocca.

1991 - he joined the Instituto Auxologico Italiano and he now serves as the Medical Director of the Cardiology Division of S. Luca Hospital, Istituto Auxologico Italiano, Institute for Treatment and Research

2009 - Prof. Parati has been named  the Medical Director of the Medical Science and Rehabilitation Department, specialising in the Cardio-Neuro-Metabolic fields of the Institute for Treatment and Research.

Prof. Gianfranco Parati is a member of numerous national and international scientific societies, such as:  the European Society for Clinical Investigation, the Italian Society of Arterial Hypertension, the Italian Society of Cardiology, the New York Academy of Sciences, the International Society of Hypertension, the American Society of Hypertension, the European Society of Hypertension, the American Physiological Society and the American Heart Association. Prof. Gianfranco Parati is the Italian Representative of COST Action B26 on Obstructive Sleep Apnoea of the European Union.

Prof. Gianfranco Parati is also an International Fellow of the High Blood Pressure Council of the American Heart Association, Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology.

In 2002 he was awarded the title of “European Hypertension Specialist”.

In 2004 he was appointed “Lecturer of the Year” of the Belgian Universities and Belgian Hypertension League.
 

Prof. Gianfranco Parati has published more than 500 articles in national and international medical journals and books and he is greatly involved in editorial activities
