Dr. Piero Trabattoni, Cardiovascular Surgeon - Milan, Italy

Dr. Piero Trabattoni is Chief of Endovascular Unit and Deputy Director of Cardiovascular Area at Centro Cardiologico Monzino, Milan.

Moreover he is Teacher of Endovascular Techniques at  the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery Post-Graduate School, University of Milan and Tutor of the Vascular Surgery Post-Graduate School, University of Milan.

His activity is focused on Endovascular Surgery (including abdominal and thoracic valves, carotid artery angioplasty and peripheral vascular /endovascular stent placement), and on a  new multifunctional operating room combining vascular and endovascular surgery techniques to perform transcatheter aortic valve implants (TAVI).

Since 2003 he has opened the Endovascular Surgery Service in the operating rooms of the Centro Cardiologico Monzino.

Since 2007, he has gained experience in the placement of transcatheter aortic heart valve Tavi (transfemoral, transapical).
He has performed 1500 interventions of Vascular Surgery and 1540 interventional procedures (abdominal and thoracic endoprosthesis placement, carotid, splanchnics and lower limbs vesselsangioplasty with stent placement).

National and International appointments:

January to June 2003 – He attended as a resident physician the Intervetinal Radiology Department at St. Antonius Ziekenhuis, Nieuwegen (Utrecht) actively participating in various endovascular procedures.

Scientific Production

Dr. Trabattoni is author of 32 scientific papers published on international and national reviews and co-author of one book’s chapter.
